03/26/2015 #02 - At the edge of the wall, you can see how the previously-installed rebar extends up through the open cells of the cinderblock. Rebar will be laid horizontally in the channel on top of the seventh row of cinderblock and will extend down through the open cells for additional strength when the cells are filled with concrete. This will be repeated as the wall is built. The worker with the jeans in the center is a mason’s apprentice who, among other things, mix the cement and distribute it to each mason. |
