03/19/2015 #05 - This is the trench before being filled with concrete. Steel reinforcing bar (“rebar”) has been laid at the bottom of the trench with a vertical rebar sticking up above the trench. The rebar at the bottom strengthens the footing which must support the weight of the cinderblock wall, and the vertical piece will stick up into an opening of the cinderblock when they build the wall; therefore the vertical rebar to be aligned, spaced properly and be perfectly vertical. |
